Women aren’t only exposed to rape. From young age up, women, deal with all kinds of predators. I was in middle school waiting for a school bus when a man came to me open his coat and show his penis. In the middle of the street. There were people around. Nobody said anything.
It is not that women have less sexual urges or that we are less sexual creatures. We are not raised with some sort of entitlement due to our vaginas. Day in Day out men walk around thinking their penis or testicles make them superior to women. From the statements like “have some balls” to “don’t be a pussy” we instill the idea that penis/testicle is superior to the vagina.
Men aren’t some helpless creatures that cannot control their urges. They are straight up entitled. This is a woman who is an Uber driver below. She was giving a ride to a passenger and this man felt entitled to masturbate in her car. On top of it all he had the audacity to ask if he could finish (you can see from the picture below he did finish).
No he is not some weirdo. He is not sick. So withhold those comments please. He is just another entitled male in this ugly world.
He might not have put his hands on her, yet she is traumatized for life. She still feels violated and will deal with the effects for a long time.
This is why I say #metoo or #whyididntreport movements missing a huge aspect of this abuse. Don’t ask a women whether she was raped, harassed or assisted. Ask her just how many times she was and how young was she when she was first exposed to it. Maybe that’s when it will sink in and our society will then understand that men needs to be put in their place with education at young age and harsher punishments.
That’s why I say we use hashtags like #howoldwasI and #howmanytimes to make a point.
